Lamont has seen hard times, at one point even sleeping on the streets. But after connecting with a local Maryland Food Bank partner agency, he found the stability he needed to pursue additional social services and slowly rebuild his life.
“Some days, I wanted to give up. But I stuck in there.”

As Lamont struggled to get back on his feet, he found ways to utilize different services to keep him moving forward. Though it took time, Lamont remained committed to having his own place and a stable source of food.
“I’m not used to living like this, I want my own place, I want to do this.”
-Lamont
Today, Lamont has his own place. Still, he remains grounded by his past struggles, never taking for granted the food in his refrigerator and the roof over his head.
“Living my life now, I wouldn’t pass it up for nothing.”
